“Heggy” (or Pete to his friends!) whilst living on Portland since 1976, has fished all over the world from British Columbia in Canada to the coast of the Namibian Desert in West Africa, hunting the huge Bronze Whaler Sharks that inhabit that part of the African shoreline.

If asked what are the highlights of his angling career, he will tell you that there are two, firstly his selection as part of the England Shore Team back in the late ’80s and then the capture of the British-Record Ballan Wrasse in 1998.

Pete is still involved in the local match circuit, although his preference is for specimen/species hunting. If you get the chance try and get him to tell you some some of his personal best fish. Its quite an impressive list.

Equally at home beachcasting along Chesil Beach for the huge array of species that turn up throughout the year, hunting Wrasse and Conger around Portland, or when the chance arises light- line fishing in either of the two local harbours. His knowledge of the area has been built up from the thousands of hours he has spent fishing around Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

I am an experienced and well known in Poland fly-fishing guide, fishing instructor, rodbuilder, flytyer and journalist for Polish fishing magazines and websites.

I have been fly fishing over 30 years and for 20 years I have been building custom made rods.

For the last 10 years I have been a Fishing Guide on the trout rivers in Poland. The San, Dunajec, Poprad and many other rivers I know by heart as I spent most of my life wading in their wild waters.

Now I live in Dorset and I organise fishing trips to Poland to one of the greatest grayling, brown trout and Danube salmon rivers in Europe.
